WORLD5d agoMayurbhanj couple dies under mysterious circumstances, cause of death unknownA couple died under suspicious circumstances at their relatives’ house in Chatarisahi village under Bisoi police station limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Saturday. The husband died after being taken to hospital on Saturday morning, while his wife died later during treatment. The deceased have been identified as Bhanja Sirkha, 35, and his wife, Birang Sirkha. The couple had arrived at the village on Thursday to attend a relative’s post-death ritual at the woman’s parental home. Couple Fell Ill After Dinner According to reports, the family members had dinner together on Friday night and went to sleep. The couple were reportedly in good health until then. However, their condition deteriorated by Saturday morning, and family members found them unconscious. They were rushed to the Manada Community Health Centre, where doctors declared Bhanja Sirkha dead. As Birang Sirkha was in a critical condition, she was referred to the Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Hospital. She later died while undergoing treatment. Relative Recounts Hospital Rush Soma Nayak, a relative of the deceased couple, said the family had rushed them to hospital after finding them unconscious. “We found them unconscious and rushed them to the hospital. The doctors declared my brother-in-law dead. My sister was then referred to Rairangpur, but she died today at around 6 am. We do not know the exact reason behind their deaths,” Nayak said. Cause Of Death Yet to Be Established The exact cause of the couple’s deaths remains unclear. Authorities suspect that a bite from a venomous insect or animal could have led to their condition, but this was confirmed at the time of reporting. Police initiated an investigation into the incident. Post-mortem reports were awaited at the time of reporting, and the exact cause of death is expected to be established after the reports are received.odishatv · india
