About GlobeAlert
GlobeAlert is a live world monitor built by Appricott, a product studio that ships consumer apps for iOS, Android and the web. It started as a personal desk for watching conflicts and disasters unfold and grew into an open-source-intelligence (OSINT) platform used by journalists, analysts, travellers and people who simply want to know first.
What we stand for
We track the news, we do not write it
Every story on GlobeAlert belongs to its publisher and links back to the original. Our job is to find it fast, classify it, cross-check it and put it on the map.
Open sources only
Public news wires, publishers, official feeds, seismic and weather services, ship and aircraft transponders, live cameras. Nothing scraped from behind a login, nothing private.
Machine classified, clearly labelled
Threat levels, categories and summaries are produced by our pipeline and labelled as such. The method is public and the limits are stated on every page.
Not an emergency service
GlobeAlert is situational awareness, not official guidance. In an emergency, follow local authorities.
Where the data comes from
The desk ingests thousands of public sources around the clock: international and regional news publishers and wires, government and NGO feeds, earthquake and weather services, wildfire and flood detection, cyber incident trackers, open ship (AIS) and aircraft (ADS-B) data, prediction markets and market data, plus verified live news channels and public cameras. Each source is credited on the story or layer it feeds. How events are scored and summarised is described in full on the methodology page.
Corrections and takedowns
If a story is misclassified, a summary is wrong, or a publisher wants a story removed from the desk, write to info@appricott.ai or use the contact form. We answer within two business days and fix confirmed errors on the page itself.
